Shih Tzu Bows - Fun and Fashion

Shih Tzu dogs with their hair kept long can be a challenge to keep tangle free, but are also a beautiful thing to look upon. Soft flowing hair gives a dreamy look to any Shih Tzu. When grooming a dog, "topknots" that are held in place by colorful Shih Tzu bows are often added as a finishing touch.

First, hair on the Shih Tzu's head is combed upwards to create a fountain effect. Then the fountain is swept into one of many types of Shih Tzu bows. The hair is then flipped out of the dog's face - you've just created a Shih Tzu classic: the topknot.
